About First Christian Church
First Christian Church has served the Eugene community since 1866 from its location in the heart of the city. As an Open and Affirming congregation affiliated with the Disciples of Christ, the church welcomes people of all sexual orientations and gender identities into its full life and ministry. The congregation emphasizes simple doctrine centered on faith in Jesus Christ, diversity of belief, and equality in ministry across all leadership roles and backgrounds. Beyond Sunday worship, First Christian Church is actively engaged in global ministries, environmental stewardship as a Green Chalice congregation, and community involvement addressing hunger, poverty, and homelessness. Visitors are invited to experience worship in person or remotely and to connect with a faith community committed to strengthening relationships with God, one another, and the world.
