About First United Methodist Church
First United Methodist Church is a downtown Medford congregation dedicated to offering radical hospitality and embodying the teachings of Jesus through compassionate service. The church welcomes all members of the community—regardless of economic status, housing situation, sexual orientation, gender identity, faith background, or ethnicity—and explicitly affirms LGBTQ individuals as beloved members. Sunday worship begins at 10:30 a.m. and features music from pianists and guitarists, with monthly organ and bell choir performances, prayers, and a sermon. The congregation believes that faith should foster kindness, compassion, and love, and works to address issues of poverty, gun violence, and fear of the other. Beyond the main English service, the church also hosts a Samoan Mission on Sunday afternoons and partners with community organizations serving farm workers and immigrants.
