About Redeemer Lutheran Church
Redeemer Lutheran Church, located in northeast Salem at the corner of Lancaster and Hayesville Drives, has served the community for more than sixty years as a welcoming LCMS Lutheran congregation. The church invites visitors to experience traditional worship that follows patterns established over a thousand years of Christian practice, including readings from Scripture, a sermon, and the celebration of Holy Communion on the first and third Sundays of each month. The congregation emphasizes spiritual growth through adult Bible study, children's Sunday school, and contemporary music offerings, while maintaining a warm, small-community atmosphere where visitors can easily build connections. Redeemer extends particular hospitality to all visitors regardless of immigration status, provides Spanish-language worship bulletins, and offers a comfortable nursery with audio feed from the sanctuary for families with young children. The church community is CALLED by the Spirit, GIFTED to Serve, and focused on SHARING God's Grace with its neighbors.

Dress Code: Attire is casual—come as you are. Service Format: Worship follows traditional patterns including Invocation, Confession and Absolution, Scripture readings, sermon, creeds, offering, and the Lord's Supper/Holy Communion. Sunday services typically last 50 minutes to one hour, with adult Bible study and children's Sunday school at 9:00 AM and worship at 10:00 AM. Visitor Tips: Arrive before worship to enjoy coffee and snacks in the lobby, or linger afterward for fellowship. Activity bags are available for children in the sanctuary. Reserved seating for families with small children is available. If walking to the altar for communion is difficult, an usher can bring communion to your seat. Visitors are welcome at the Lord's Supper if they share the Lutheran understanding that the bread and wine are the body and blood of Christ for forgiveness; if you prefer not to receive, cross your arms and the pastor will give a blessing.
