About Immaculate Conception Church
Immaculate Conception BVM Church, founded in 1857 by Bishop John Neumann, has served the Allentown community for over 160 years. The present Gothic church building dates from 1900 and was designated in 1974 as the National Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe, honoring a special devotion to Mary through an annual Mass celebrated on or near December 12. Led by Rev. John M. Gibbons and supported by dedicated clergy and deacons, the parish offers a rich Catholic faith experience with masses in both English and Polish, along with various sacramental programs including baptism preparation, marriage counseling, and ministry to the sick. New visitors are warmly welcomed to register with the parish and to explore the church's long history of service and spiritual community.
