About Redeemer Lutheran Church
Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Redeemer, rooted in Allentown's West End since 1925, is an ELCA congregation committed to serving its community through the Word of God and active mission work. The church welcomes all people regardless of race, ethnic background, socioeconomic status, gender identity, sexual orientation, or past experiences, emphasizing that questions and doubts are welcome. Members describe themselves as followers of Christ who roll up their sleeves to serve, engaging in community outreach including food pantry support, care for the unhoused, partnerships with local schools, and spiritual support for seniors. Worship is centered on scripture and sacrament, with Sunday School offered on select Sundays for all ages.
