About Saint Luke's Lutheran Church
Saint Luke's Lutheran Church in Allentown is a welcoming community centered on the Gospel and empowered by God's Spirit to embody Jesus' disciples in both word and deed. With roots stretching over 125 years, the congregation rebuilt its current church building in 1898 after a fire destroyed the original structure, demonstrating deep commitment to its ministry on 7th Street. Saint Luke's serves as an active center of faith offering worship, Sunday School, and community events, and notably provides weekly Spanish-language services called Misa de Alabanza on Sunday mornings, as well as free English Language Learning classes several times per week. The church embraces a bilingual and bicultural approach, holding special services in both English and Spanish to serve its diverse congregation. Visitors of all faith backgrounds are welcomed as the church continues its mission of being God's presence to the Allentown community.
