About Bendersville Lutheran Parrish
Bendersville Lutheran Parish comprises three congregations—Bethlehem Lutheran in Bendersville, St. James Lutheran in Biglerville, and Christ Lutheran in Aspers—with roots tracing back to 1836 when German Lutheran and Reformed families first worshiped together in a schoolhouse. The parish was formally established in 1912 to provide pastoral coverage across the three communities. Today, worship services are offered at three different times and locations to accommodate varying schedules, with services led by Rev. Susan E. Scott and visiting clergy. The congregations maintain their historic commitment to Lutheran faith and community worship while continuing the legacy of their 19th-century founders.
