About Our Lady of Angels Convent
Our Lady of Angels Convent in Aston, Pennsylvania, is home to the Sisters of St. Francis of Philadelphia, a Catholic community dedicated to living out the legacy of Saints Francis and Clare of Assisi. Founded in 1855 by Mother Mary Francis Bachmann and two companions, the congregation has grown from a small group serving immigrant women to nearly 800 sisters ministering across multiple states, Ireland, and Africa. Today, the sisters continue their founder's commitment to serve those in need through prayer ministry, healthcare, education, spiritual care, and advocacy for justice and peace. The convent welcomes visitors to join Mass and offers monthly tours of the motherhouse and its sacred spaces, providing an opportunity to experience the Franciscan charism firsthand.

Dress Code: Modest, respectful attire appropriate for a Catholic convent setting. Service Format: All are welcome to join Mass at Our Lady of Angels Convent; call (610) 459-4125 to notify the community of your attendance. Visitor Tips: Monthly tours of the first floor buildings and chapel are offered on the fourth Tuesday of each month at 1 p.m.; group tours for six or more people can be scheduled on other weekdays by contacting Sr. Kathleen at (610) 558-7714 or OSFF@osfphila.org.
