About Or Shalom
Congregation Or Shalom, located in Berwyn, Pennsylvania, is a Conservative Jewish synagogue founded in 1974 that has grown into a vibrant community serving the Western Main Line. Known for its liberal outlook within Conservative Judaism, the congregation was among the first Conservative synagogues to provide full equality to women and welcomes all members, including blended families. Led by Cantor Stephen Freedman, a nationally recognized liturgical musician and member of the Cantors Assembly's Executive Council, the congregation offers a rich spiritual life centered on family-oriented worship, lifelong Jewish education, and community support.
