About St. John the Baptist Catholic Church
St. John the Baptist Catholic Church is a parish in the Personal Ordinariate of the Chair of Saint Peter, a North American diocese established by Pope Benedict XVI to serve former Anglican communities now in full communion with the Catholic Church. Founded in 2015, the parish occupies the former Our Lady of Mount Carmel property in Bridgeport, Pennsylvania, and is known for its deeply reverent liturgy featuring traditional music, Anglican and Gregorian chant, and orthodox preaching. The community actively serves the Bridgeport area through evangelization, a thrift shop, catechesis programs, and partnerships with the Knights of Columbus. St. John the Baptist welcomes both longtime members of the Ordinariate and new visitors seeking a liturgically rich Catholic experience rooted in Anglican heritage.
