Messiah Lutheran Church, located in the heart of Downingtown at 46 West Lancaster Avenue, has been serving the community since 1902, growing from a small gathering of Lutheran foundry and mill workers into a vibrant, caring congregation. Worship at Messiah is warm, welcoming, and centered on God's grace, combining traditional and contemporary elements with hymns, organ and piano music, and often featuring choirs or handbells. The church actively welcomes children of all ages into worship, offering a nursery for the youngest worshipers and faith-formation programming called Growing God's Way. Messiah gathers to hear God's Word, share Holy Communion, and grow together in faith and service, believing deeply in their mission to grow God's family through worship, discipleship, fellowship, ministry, and outreach.
