Nativity of the Mother of God Byzantine Catholic Church in DuBois has served its congregation since 1910, when it was established by a group of Byzantine Catholic faithful. The parish maintained strong spiritual commitment through its early decades, welcoming its first resident pastor in 1970, Father John Kovach. The community's dedication bore fruit with the construction of a new social hall in 1975 and a new church building that opened for worship in 1985, blessed by Archbishop Stephen J. Kocisko. Since 1993, the parish has shared pastoral leadership with neighboring Byzantine Catholic communities while continuing the spirit of fidelity and cooperation that has defined the congregation for over a century. The parish remains active through its various organizations and the generous involvement of its members.
