About Prince-Peace Episcopal Church
Prince of Peace Episcopal Church is a liturgical Episcopal parish in Gettysburg. Its cornerstone was laid on July 2, 1888, during the 25th anniversary reunion of Battle of Gettysburg veterans, and the church was built as a memorial to Civil War soldiers and a symbol of peace and reconciliation. The building was completed in 1900 and renovated again in 2022. Alongside Sunday and Wednesday Holy Eucharist services, the parish offers children’s ministry and a Contemplative Prayer Group on Mondays at 4:00 PM. A community soup kitchen began in the parish undercroft in 1990.
