About Blessed Sacrament Cathedral
Blessed Sacrament Cathedral is a historic English gothic style structure serving as the mother church of the Diocese of Greensburg, located prominently on North Main Street in downtown Greensburg, Pennsylvania. The parish traces its roots back to March 10, 1789, when a small group of laymen representing about 25 area families established the foundation for this enduring Catholic community. The cathedral underwent significant restoration beginning in 2010-11, including repairs to stained glass windows, electrical system upgrades, interior and exterior lighting improvements, and comprehensive restoration of the apse where the altar is located. Today, Blessed Sacrament Cathedral continues to provide a welcoming home for worship and faith formation to Catholics throughout the Greensburg area and beyond, maintaining its role as a vibrant center of Catholic life and spiritual growth.
