About Sisters Of Saint Joseph
The Sisters of Saint Joseph of Philadelphia is a Catholic congregation with deep historical roots tracing back to seventeenth-century France and a presence in the Hanover area and beyond. Founded on the principle of uniting neighbor with neighbor and neighbor with God, the congregation has served the Church and broader community for nearly two centuries through education, healthcare, social services, and spiritual ministry. Today, approximately 500 sisters and 600 associates in mission continue this legacy of incarnating love and addressing urgent social challenges. The congregation stands in solidarity with movements for nonviolence and justice, particularly serving the poor, marginalized, and vulnerable. Visitors and those seeking spiritual connection are invited to learn more about the sisters' mission and consider how they might partner in this work of compassionate service.
