About Christian Science Church
First Church of Christ, Scientist of Harrisburg welcomes all to experience spiritual healing through Christian Science practice. Located at 1000 Briarsdale Road, this congregation has served the Harrisburg region continuously for over a century, tracing its roots to an informal healing group that formed in 1898 and became an officially recognized branch of The Mother Church in Boston in 1906. The church presents its healing mission through Sunday services, Wednesday testimony meetings, Sunday School instruction based on Scripture and Mary Baker Eddy's Science and Health textbook, and a Reading Room open to the community. Services center on the Bible and Christian Science textbook as dual pastors, with weekly lessons addressing Scripture through a spiritual healing lens. The congregation invites visitors to participate in worship, witness testimonies of healing and spiritual insight from practitioners, and explore Christian Science literature in a welcoming environment.
