About St. Margaret Mary Roman Catholic Church
St. Margaret Mary Roman Catholic Church is a Catholic parish in Harrisburg with a history dating to March 1, 1948, when it was established by Bishop George L. Leech. Its first Mass was celebrated a few days later in a Studebaker automobile showroom, and the first church on Herr Street was dedicated in 1949. The parish school was established in 1958, and a new church was dedicated in 2010 by Most Reverend Kevin C. Rhoades. Today the parish spans two campuses on Paxton Church Road and Herr Street, with Saturday vigil, Sunday, and weekday Masses.
