About St. Nicholas Serbian Orthodox Church
St. Nicholas Serbian Orthodox Church, founded in 1904 in Wilmerding and relocated to Monroeville in 1971, belongs to the Serbian Diocese of Eastern America. The parish holds special significance as its altar table was blessed by St. Tikhon, the former Patriarch of Russia, at the original church's consecration. Services are conducted primarily in English with select portions in Church Slavonic, honoring the community's Serbian Orthodox heritage while welcoming people of all cultural and national backgrounds. Led by Father Stefan Djoric, who holds advanced theological degrees from the University of Belgrade and St. Vladimir's Seminary, the parish offers Divine Liturgies on Sundays and Saturdays at 10:00 a.m. (9:30 a.m. June through August), weekday liturgies Monday through Friday at 8:00 a.m., and Saturday Vespers with Confession at 6:00 p.m. The church community includes various organizations such as the Sunday School, Choir, Tamburitzans, and Outreach Committee, providing multiple ways for visitors and members to participate in parish life.
