Holy Name of Mary Parish in Montrose, Pennsylvania is a Catholic community with deep roots stretching back to 1857, when the congregation first purchased a church building for $600. The parish has grown from its humble origins serving Catholic families in the rural area to become an active parish under the leadership of Reverend Philip S. Rayappan. The church building, located on South Main Street, was constructed in the 1880s and has been lovingly maintained and renovated over the decades, with members contributing to improvements such as restored windows and a large crucifix donated by the Altar and Rosary Society. The parish continues its mission to build upon the Catholic faith of previous generations while reaching out with compassion to all people, offering Christ's love, healing, and forgiveness to the wider community.
