About Mount Zion Baptist Church
Mount Zion Baptist Church is a Baptist congregation in Philadelphia with roots reaching back to 1914. The church was formally organized in October of that year after being founded by Reverend Charles Wallace Gregory and four Christian women. Its early history includes a revival in April 1914, which added eight more souls, and the church burned its mortgage in 1943. Reverend Hiawatha Coleman was called to the pastorate in March 1955. Sunday worship is offered at 9:00 AM and 10:30 AM, with Bible Study on Wednesday at 7:00 PM and Prayer Meeting at 8:00 PM. The church also has a children’s ministry.
