About St Katharine of Siena
St. Katharine of Siena Parish in Wayne, Pennsylvania is a Catholic community with deep historical roots, founded in 1893 by Archbishop Patrick J. Ryan of Philadelphia. The parish began with just 70 families and, through the dedication of Irish working women, saw its cornerstone laid and original church dedicated in 1895. Today the parish serves over 2,100 families in a modern church structure built in 1966, which features stunning floor-to-ceiling stained glass windows depicting scenes from Sacred Scripture and the life of the Church. The parish is guided by its mission to grow in wisdom, grace, and fidelity to the Church while serving others, empowered by Jesus in word and sacrament. Visitors are invited to experience this welcoming community that continues a 130-year tradition of faith and discipleship on the Main Line.
