About St. Mary's Church Office
St. Mary's Church in York, Pennsylvania is a welcoming, multicultural parish founded in 1852 by Saint John Neumann as a German-speaking Catholic community. Since 1995, it has served as a territorial and multilingual parish with special care for Hispanic immigrants, creating a truly diverse faith family in the heart of downtown York. The parish is deeply committed to living out the Gospel through numerous ministries, including partnerships with the Catholic Harvest Food Pantry and Our Daily Bread Soup Kitchen, as well as the St. Mary's Thrift Shop that serves the broader community. Visitors will encounter not only a beautiful, inspiring church building but also an active community engaged in faith formation, sacramental life, and corporal works of mercy that reflect the Beatitudes and spiritual traditions of the Catholic faith.
