The Church of the Annunciation is the first Greek Orthodox parish established in Rhode Island, founded by Greek immigrants in 1905 in Providence before relocating to its current home at 175 Oaklawn Avenue in Cranston in 1968. Today the parish serves over 600 families throughout the greater Rhode Island area and remains part of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America under the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople. The community is vibrant and multigenerational, offering Sunday services year-round along with a range of ministries including Sunday school, choir, Bible study, youth groups, and cultural organizations such as the Odyssey Dance Troupe and Hellenic Cultural Society.
