About Peace Dale Congregational Church
Peace Dale Congregational Church is an Open and Affirming congregation of the United Church of Christ in South Kingstown. More than 160 years old, the church describes itself as Christian, open minded, spiritual, evolving, and diverse. The Rev. A. Fred Evenson serves as Senior Minister. Its community life includes Sunday worship, children’s ministry, and Youth Connect, along with local service through Dinner Table, a mission that prepares and delivers meals to community residents. In 2024, Dinner Table provided more than 22,000 meals. Tabitha’s Closet offers clothing on Saturday mornings.

Founded in 1857
Peace Dale Congregational Church began as a Sunday School based in the home of Rowland and Margaret Hazard. The cornerstone of a new church building was laid in 1870, and the building was completed in 1872.
