About Avondale Chapel
Avondale Chapel is a historic Baptist-affiliated congregation located in the scenic Avondale neighborhood of Westerly, Rhode Island. Operating as a summer ministry beginning on Father's Day through Labor Day, the chapel holds early morning services at 8:00 AM each week that welcome residents, vacationers, boaters, and golfers alike. The chapel's ecumenical tradition features rotating religious leaders from Catholic, Episcopal, Congregational, Lutheran, Baptist, and other Christian denominations, complemented by guest musicians who enrich the worship experience. Special services are offered during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter seasons. The Avondale Chapel also serves the community by hosting weddings and private functions, operating as an outreach ministry of Central Baptist Church of Westerly.
