Haven of Rest Ministries is a Christ-centered, Bible-based discipleship program and ministry located in Anderson, South Carolina, serving men and women seeking recovery from life-dominating problems such as homelessness and addiction. Founded in October 1960 by Christian businessmen concerned about the homeless in Anderson, the ministry has grown from a small facility with six donated bunk beds to an operation accommodating an average of ninety men and women. The Haven operates on a mission to rescue, restore, and release individuals through thousands of hours of Bible teaching, with all programs and services provided free of charge. In 2025 alone, the ministry prepared over 71,000 nourishing meals, provided more than 21,500 nights of safe shelter, and saw forty clients make first-time salvation decisions. As an evangelistic ministry centered on the Great Commission, Haven of Rest emphasizes the transformative love of Jesus Christ and aims to see participants meet their immediate needs, find freedom from addictions, and return to society connected to a Christian church community.
