Joseph Michael McGrath, O.F.M., the parish grew from the St. Peter Claver Society established in 1934 to serve Black Catholics during the era of segregation. Today, the church celebrates its heritage while opening its doors to all people, offering Sunday Masses at 8 a.m., 10 a.m., and 12 p.m., as well as weekday services and confession. The parish is committed to evangelization, education through St. Anthony of Padua Catholic School, and community service through ministries including a food pantry and the Micah program.
