About Mt. Moriah Baptist Church
Mt. Moriah Baptist Church in Greenwood, South Carolina has a profound legacy rooted in the faith journey of formerly enslaved individuals who organized the congregation in 1871. Beginning with worship under a brush arbor and later a log cabin, the church has grown through multiple expansions and renovations, most recently in 2007, to serve approximately 300 members today. Led by Pastor and Mrs. Raymond Adams since 1986, the church maintains a comprehensive ministry focused on biblical teaching, community outreach, and discipleship through worship services, Bible studies, music ministry, youth programs, and service to the elderly and incarcerated. The congregation actively participates in various ministries including Sunday School, vacation Bible school, and prison outreach, reflecting a commitment to spreading the Gospel and winning souls for Christ.
