About Grant Hill Baptist Church
Grant Hill Baptist Church in Rembert has roots reaching back to 1863, when worship began under a brush arbor. The congregation’s first pastor was Rev. J. Capers, who served until 1873. That same year, the church’s first building, a log cabin, was built on land donated by Scipio Grant, and the church became known as Grant Hill Baptist Church in 1887. A new sanctuary was erected in 1964 under Dr. L.W. Williams. Pastor Clifton N. Witherspoon was called in December 2005 and officially installed on May 21, 2006. The church offers Sunday School, adult Bible study, and youth Bible study through KidVenture.
