About Mt Olive Baptist Church
Mt. Olive Baptist Church is a traditional Baptist congregation in Ridgeway, South Carolina, with roots reaching back to the spring of 1885. The church was founded by Abram Brunson, George Butler, Julius Brevard, and Sony Brown Belton, and its first service was held under a brush harbor on the first Sunday in May of that year. The congregation gathers for Sunday worship at 11:00 AM. Its history reflects a long-standing local presence and a beginning shaped by the desire for children and families in the community to have access to Sunday School and worship closer to home.
