About New Hope United Methodist Church
New Hope United Methodist Church is a historic congregation founded in 1825 in the small community of Rowesville, South Carolina, and has occupied its current location since 1905. Recently transitioning to the Global Methodist denomination in February 2025 after disaffiliating from the United Methodist Church, the church continues to serve families with deep roots in the community as well as newcomers. The congregation is known for its traditional approach to worship and faith, with members described as being in alignment with traditional Christian beliefs. Under the pastoral leadership of Faye Stephens, who joined the church in December 2024, New Hope remains committed to serving the Lord and strengthening its bonds with the local community. The church welcomes visitors and members to participate in its ministry and worship life.
