First Baptist Church of St. Matthews has been building bridges for Christ in the St. Matthews, South Carolina community and surrounding areas for over 145 years. Established in 1875 as the Lewisville Baptist Church, the congregation later took the name of their town and has grown to become First Baptist Church. The church offers a full schedule of worship and study opportunities, including Sunday morning worship at 11:00 AM following Sunday School at 9:50 AM, Sunday evening worship services from August through May, and midweek Bible study on Wednesday evenings. With a long heritage of faithful ministry spanning generations, this congregation continues its mission of Christian fellowship and spiritual growth in the St. Matthews area.
