Advent United Methodist Church in Simpsonville, South Carolina, was chartered in 1987 to serve the growing Five Forks area and has developed into a large, vibrant congregation from diverse faith backgrounds. The church is dedicated to its mission of making disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world, emphasizing discipleship as a journey of growing in love for God and others. Advent is known not only for what it teaches but for what it does—locally, regionally, and internationally—serving as the hands and feet of Christ through extensive mission work, including packaging over 1.5 million meals, providing clean water to 21 villages, and supporting 264 students through the Backpack Blessings program. The congregation gathers for worship in two distinct styles on Sunday mornings, offers ministries for children, students, and adults, and maintains a commitment to excellence in worship and community engagement.

Dress Code: You'll see people in the worship space dressed in all styles—from jeans to business attire. Service Format: Traditional service at 9:00 AM features organ, piano, and choirs in a formal setting; Modern service at 10:30 AM has a relaxed feel with a band and occasionally a praise choir. Visitor Tips: Arrive about 15 minutes before the service to allow time to find your way to the Sanctuary and find a seat. Guest Services teams wearing How May I Help? badges are located at all Connecting Space entrances and will welcome you and answer questions. The Next Steps desk in the Connecting Space provides information about Advent, and there is a campus map available for download. Nursery care is available for children ages 6 weeks to 2 years in the Education Building during both worship hours.
