About The Journey Church
The Journey Church is a community of believers located in downtown Spartanburg, South Carolina, formed in 2005 with a mission to reach those on the outside of hope looking in—the poor, hurting, challenged, addicted, and forgotten. This multi-racial, multi-generational church family is committed to making disciples in some of the toughest areas of the city and beyond, serving as a bridge for Christians and churches to address spiritual and physical needs in the community. The church emphasizes clear biblical teaching, powerful worship, unity in diversity, and a heart for missions. Led by founding Pastor Chris Pollard, who brings over 30 years of ministry experience including work as an addictions counselor, The Journey gathers weekly for worship, prayer, and teaching. The church is affiliated with the Spartanburg County Baptist Network and the Southern Baptist Convention, reflecting Baptist beliefs and practices.
