About West Nidaros Lutheran Church
West Nidaros Lutheran Church is a congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) located in Crooks, South Dakota. With roots reaching back to 1868, when Norwegian pioneers established the original Nidaros Congregation on the banks of the Sioux River, West Nidaros has endured as the sole surviving member of that historic four-point parish. The church welcomes all into the community of Christ and emphasizes sharing Christ's love through worship, education, music, fellowship, and various ministries. Sunday worship services are held at 9:30 a.m., with livestreaming available on Facebook and YouTube for those unable to attend in person. During the school year, the church offers Sunday School classes for children ages three through high school, fostering spiritual growth across generations.
