About St John's Orthodox Church
Saint John the Theologian Orthodox Church is a humble Antiochian Orthodox parish located in Rapid City, South Dakota, serving as the only Orthodox parish in Western South Dakota. Situated at the gateway to the beautiful Black Hills, the church strives to maintain the apostolic faith of Jesus Christ as preserved in the Orthodox tradition. The parish welcomes visitors from throughout the region, including those relocating to Rapid City, vacationing in the Black Hills, or simply passing through. Father Joseph Olas leads the community in regular weekly services celebrating the resurrection of Christ and the events of His life and those of His followers. Saint John's invites newcomers interested in learning more about Orthodoxy to contact the church or join them for one of their weekly services, offering both a warm welcome and the opportunity to experience Orthodox worship.
