About Transfiguration Greek Orthodox Church
Transfiguration Greek Orthodox Church, founded over fifty years ago by Greek Orthodox immigrants, welcomes people of all backgrounds and ethnicities who wish to embrace the Orthodox Christian faith. Located in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, the parish has grown to include members from Greece, Russia, Ukraine, Serbia, Romania, Eritrea, Ethiopia, the Middle East, and numerous converts from Western Christian traditions. The church is committed to living and preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ through worship, community life, and service to neighbors. Worship services are conducted almost entirely in English, making them accessible to the diverse congregation. The parish supports Christian formation through Sunday Church School for children, adult education groups, and community service organizations including the Philoptochos women's society dedicated to serving the poor.
