About Good Shepherd Clinic
Good Shepherd Clinic is a free medical and dental ministry rooted in the Lutheran tradition, serving the underserved residents of the Northern Hills region of South Dakota. Operating since 2009 as an outgrowth of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Spearfish, the clinic provides compassionate, professional care without insurance requirements through walk-in clinics held Monday evenings in Spearfish and on the second and fourth Thursday evenings in Lead. Staffed by an ecumenical team of twenty rotating medical providers, eight dentists, and eighty trained volunteers, the clinic has served over 6,900 patients by offering both medical and dental services in a welcoming, confidential environment. The clinic's mission emphasizes meeting patients with dignity and respect while helping to alleviate the financial burden of healthcare for those struggling to balance basic living expenses with personal health needs.
