About Salem Associate Reformed Presb
Salem Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church, located in Atoka, Tennessee, was organized on June 19, 1836, and has earned the historic designation of the "mother of churches" through nearly two centuries of faithful gospel ministry. The church reflects the rich Reformed tradition rooted in Scotland's Associate and Reformed Presbyteries, which united in 1782 to form the ARP denomination. With 155 active members, Salem maintains remarkable stability, having had only nine pastors in its long history. The sanctuary, the fourth building on the premises, features dark wooden Gothic arches, beautiful stained-glass windows, and a pipe organ, creating a reverent space for worship centered on biblical exposition and the sacraments.
