About Owens Chapel
Owens Chapel Church of Christ in Brentwood, Tennessee is a historic fellowship dedicated to following Jesus Christ, founded in 1859 by a small community that eventually took the name of the prominent Owens family. The church, built in 1860, is an architecturally significant example of Greek Revival and Vernacular Greek Revival design, and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986 as one of only two brick churches in Williamson County built before the Civil War that survived outside of Franklin. The congregation is led by Minister Dan Harrell, known as "Cowboy Dan," who shares messages emphasizing character, family, and Christian values alongside his background in agriculture. Members describe themselves as an exceptional group who love people and love Jesus, and they welcome visitors to join them for worship and community.
