About Chattanooga Friends Meeting
Chattanooga Friends Meeting is part of the Religious Society of Friends, commonly known as Quakers, and welcomes all who seek spiritual community regardless of background or belief. The meeting gathers each Sunday at 10 am for unprogrammed worship, a contemplative practice in which Friends sit in silence to listen for divine guidance and the Inner Light, with anyone moved to speak sharing from the heart. Following worship, the community breaks for refreshments and reconvenes for Second Hour, with a potluck lunch held on the third Sunday that includes vegetarian options. Children are actively welcomed and participate in both Meeting for Worship and First Day School. As an explicitly open and affirming congregation, Chattanooga Friends Meeting is committed to celebrating diversity and living out core Quaker values of simplicity, peace, integrity, community, equality, and stewardship. The meetinghouse is located at 335 Crestway Drive in Chattanooga.
