About Old Catholic Communion of North America
The Old Catholic Communion of North America, with a parish in Clarksville, Tennessee, represents a return to the orthodox faith and practices of the Early Church, maintaining Western customs while rejecting certain Roman Catholic dogmas such as papal infallibility and mandatory celibacy. Founded on the principle that the Church should embody the undivided faith of the first millennium, the parish welcomes all baptized Christians to receive Holy Communion and extends particular hospitality to divorced and remarried individuals. The community is liturgical and sacramental in nature, celebrating the Holy Eucharist and providing all seven sacraments through apostolically successive clergy. Archbishop Michael Nesmith and his wife Kathy helped establish All Saints Parish in Clarksville in 1999, making it part of a growing network of Old Catholic missions and parishes across the Southeast. The congregation describes itself as a family-oriented worship community seeking to unite believers with God and one another through the Eucharist, Gospel proclamation, and a life of prayer, fasting, and charity.
