About St. Michael's Episcopal Church
St. Michael’s Episcopal Church is a parish in the Episcopal Diocese of Tennessee with liturgical worship in the Episcopal tradition. The congregation was received into the diocese as an organized mission in January 1949. Its current property at North Washington and 7th Street was purchased in July 1956, and the first service in the new church was held on Easter Sunday, April 6, 1958. After a fire destroyed the church building on December 19, 1968, the parish continued its life and worship in Cookeville. A columbarium was dedicated in January 1996.
