About Gloria Dei Lutheran Church
Gloria Dei Lutheran Church is a welcoming, vibrant Christian community in South Knoxville celebrating over 70 years of faithful service. As an ELCA Lutheran congregation, the church is centered on the promise of salvation through grace and faith in Jesus Christ, freely given to all people. Gloria Dei is an explicitly inclusive church that fully embraces Jesus' commandment to love others without hesitation, reservation, or exclusion, welcoming all of God's children regardless of race, culture, gender identity, sexual orientation, or spiritual beliefs. The congregation is actively engaged in community outreach through partnerships with local organizations including Fish Hospitality Pantry, Tyson House, and New Hopewell Elementary School, while also supporting global mission work through Lutheran World Relief and ELCA World Hunger. Led by Pastor Rev. Dr. Judy Bullock, Gloria Dei describes itself as small enough to know everyone's name while providing hands-on support to the South Knoxville community and surrounding areas.
