About Saint Francis Episcopal Church
Saint Francis Episcopal Church in Lake City, Tennessee welcomes all people into a community dedicated to worshiping God and serving others. Founded in 1949 as a mission and elevated to parish status in 1984, the church has grown from its humble beginnings in a wooded area into a self-sustaining congregation. The parish embraces the Episcopal tradition of inclusion, where leadership roles are open to all people regardless of gender or sexual orientation. Sunday worship at 9:30 am includes both traditional Rite I and contemporary Rite II services of Holy Eucharist, followed by fellowship and coffee. Beyond worship, Saint Francis engages deeply with the community through ministries including the Norris Food Pantry and Clothing Closet, refugee support, and weekly services at local health care facilities.
