About St Andrew the Apostle Church
St. Andrew the Apostle Church is a Catholic parish in Lexington and part of the Catholic Diocese of Memphis. Catholics in Lexington gathered in the Methodist Church and other local places before a local church was established. The parish was named Church of St. Andrew the Apostle on September 19, 1981, when Bishop Dozier blessed its new storefront church. Sister Angela Suzalla, O.P. served as pastoral associate for five years. An Altar Guild was organized in early 1982 and sponsored the parish’s first bazaar on November 6, 1982.
