About Metropolitan Baptist Church
Metropolitan Baptist Church in Memphis is a Baptist fellowship shaped by the Great Commission in Matthew 28:19-20. The church describes its ministry through the example of Luke 4:18, with a mission that includes preaching to the poor, freeing captives, healing broken hearts, giving sight to the blind, and releasing those who have been bruised. Its stated goal is to develop informed, committed Christian disciples who are prepared to live in and serve the present age to the glory of God. Metropolitan says it lives out this mission through six foundational pillars, with discipleship and service at the center of its life together.
