About Disciples Of The Lord Jesus Christ
Disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ is a Franciscan Charismatic religious community located in Amarillo, Texas, dedicated to ministering to the spiritually poor through prayer, praise, and evangelization. The Sisters observe vows of poverty, chastity, and obedience, and their charism centers on drawing all people into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ through the transforming power of the Holy Spirit. Their main ministries include contemplative and active prayer, joyful celebration of God's love, and outreach to those seeking a deeper knowledge of the Lord. The community has expanded to include Sisters from Mexico and is developing Proyecto San José, a mission expansion in Higueras, Nuevo León, to form new vocations and serve the wider Church. Visitors are welcome to join the Sisters for prayer, worship, and spiritual retreats at their location on Mustang Street.
