About Southwest Metroplex Baptist Association
Southwest Metroplex Baptist Association is a network of sixty-two Southern Baptist churches serving Johnson County, Texas and surrounding areas. Founded in 1864 as the Alvarado Baptist Association, the organization works to strengthen existing churches and plant new ones while fostering revival and spiritual awakening across the region. Though each affiliated church maintains its own autonomy and character, they partner together to provide fellowship, leadership development, mission opportunities, and community ministries. The association is led by Executive Director Scott Whitson and Ministry Assistant Dawn Tanner, who welcome inquiries from those seeking connection with a Baptist congregation in the area.
