About First Presbyterian Church
First Presbyterian Church of Denton, founded in 1878, has served its community for nearly 150 years with vibrant traditional worship. Located on University Drive, the church welcomes visitors to come as they are for Sunday services featuring hymns, sermons, and a thoughtful approach to faith. Beyond worship, the congregation engages in Bible study, prayer, and community service, including operating a Little Free Food Pantry to address hunger in the area. Under the leadership of Rev. Ernest Leatherbury Gardner, III, who recently joined the church after a pastoral search, First Presbyterian invites all to experience worship rooted in Presbyterian tradition and guided by the Holy Spirit.
